EN: Restorative Yoga is a deeply calming practice where the body is fully supported using props such as blankets, bolsters, straps, blocks, and eye pillows. The focus is not on stretching or building strength, but on creating space for deep rest and release.
In this practice, poses are held for longer periods, allowing the body to soften, open, and let go. With the right support, the nervous system can shift out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest mode.
When the body enters this state of relaxation, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated. This slows the heart rate and breath, lowers blood pressure, relaxes the muscles, and calms the mind. In this deeply restful state, the body has the chance to repair, restore, and return to balance.
FR: Le Yoga Restauratif est une pratique profondément apaisante dans laquelle le corps est entièrement soutenu à l’aide d’accessoires tels que des couvertures, des coussins, des sangles, des blocs et des coussins pour les yeux.
