Welcome to La Commanderie – A Place to Breathe, Rest & Reconnect
Tucked away in the rolling hills of the Gers in Southwest France—often called the French Tuscany—La Commanderie is a place where time slows down, and you can finally take a deep breath. Once a medieval home to the Knights Templar, this historic retreat center now invites you to step into its peaceful embrace, surrounded by open fields, vast skies, and the echoes of centuries past.
Imagine waking up to birdsong, easing into the day with gentle yoga, and sipping tea as the morning sun warms the ancient stone walls. The chapel, filled with a deep and quiet energy, is a space for meditation, ceremony, and sometimes hosts sound healing or other gatherings. Outside, two majestic old oak trees stand as silent guardians, offering shade, wisdom, and a grounding presence.
Life at La Commanderie moves at a different pace. Whether you’re joining a women’s circle, resting with a book, or simply gazing out over the golden fields, this is a place to unwind, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Evenings bring a sense of belonging as we gather for nourishing meals, heartfelt conversations, and rituals under the vast Gascon sky.

Accommodation at La Commanderie
We want you to feel truly rested during your stay, so each sleeping space is arranged with your comfort in mind. Our current accommodation options include:
Double Room – Furnished with either a double bed or two single beds. The room has a private bathroom.
Mezzanine Dorm – A cozier shared option for small groups or individuals who enjoy communal living. One shared bathroom.
Large Dorm Room – A larger shared space, ideal for meeting new people while still having room to spread out. One Shared bathroom.
4 Glamping Tents – Each tent can be set up for single or double occupancy, offering a touch of adventure with the comforts of home. Shared sanitary facilities outside.
All beds feature Emma Deluxe Fusion Fresh Hybrid mattresses with temperature regulation, as well as three different pillows to suit your personal preference:
A firm natural bolster pillow (100% duck feathers)
A memory foam gel pillow
A plush duck feather pillow
Quality linen bedding adds a soft, breathable layer for a restful night’s sleep—so you can drift off to the gentle sounds of nature and wake up feeling refreshed and renewed.

Mezzanine Dorm

Located above the shared kitchen area, this open mezzanine offers a dorm-style setup with three single beds. Curtains provide a touch of privacy for each bed, while the open layout creates a warm and communal atmosphere. Simple, comfortable, and ideal for those who enjoy shared spaces.

Large Dorm Room

Perfect for solo women open to connection
This light-filled dorm room offers a nurturing and spacious setting ideal for solo women travelers attending our retreats. With a flexible setup of beds, the room accommodates up to 5–6 women comfortably. It’s a wonderful option if you enjoy the sense of community and shared experience that comes from rooming with like-hearted souls.
Capacity: 5–6 women (1 small double bed + 4 single beds, beds can be configured)

Glamping Tent

Perfect for solo guests or friends seeking nature and stillness
Our cozy glamping tents offer a peaceful retreat close to nature without sacrificing comfort. Each tent is thoughtfully furnished with two comfortable beds, soft lighting, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You can book a tent for yourself (single occupancy) or share with a friend or another participant. A beautiful way to enjoy quiet moments and gentle connection.
Capacity: 1–2 people (single or shared occupancy). 1-2 extra beds can be added.

Ideal for: Solo guests seeking privacy in nature or friends sharing a unique stay under the stars.
Our Saltwater Pool – A Space to Relax and Reconnect
Our new saltwater pool is ready—and we love how it has become a peaceful and beautiful part of the garden. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, take a refreshing swim, or simply float and enjoy the stillness around you.
At one end, we’ve created a sacred space designed especially for water rituals and small ceremonies. Whether it’s for a moment of quiet reflection, a women's circle, a guided ritual, or just placing your hands in the water with intention, this space invites you to connect with the deeper currents of life.
