A Soft Invitation to Come Home
There comes a point when the life you have built no longer feels like yours.
When you've been so busy holding everything together — the job, the family, the endless list of things that need doing — that you've forgotten what it feels like to just be yourself.
This retreat is for you.
Embodied Movement The Way Back to Yourself is a week-long women's retreat at La Commanderie — a former Knights Templar estate in the rolling hills of the Gers, South of France. Through women's circles, somatic movement, yoga nidra, breathwork, ritual and ceremony, you will journey through six themes that take you from where you are now — disconnected, uncertain, exhausted — to where you are going: back to yourself, and forward into who you are becoming.
A felt sense of who you are beneath all the roles you carry
Clarity about who you are and what you want from this next chapter
A body that feels alive, grounded and truly yours again
A sisterhood of women who walked this journey with you
Simple daily practices to carry the transformation home
Set at the historic La Commanderie in the Gers — with a saltwater pool, meditation chapel, jacuzzi, sauna and nourishing organic meals — this is an invitation to slow down, soften and remember what it means to be fully alive.
Each day moves through a new theme — building gently from arrival to integration, so that by the time you leave, you haven't just rested. You have returned to yourself.
🌑 Day 1 — Landing in This Transition Arriving, settling, releasing what you've been carrying. A welcome dinner and opening circle to bring you home to yourself.
🌒 Day 2 — Reconnecting to the Body Somatic movement, breath awareness and body wisdom. Learning to listen inward again.
🌓 Day 3 — Desire and Clarity What do I actually want — beyond roles, expectations and what I should want? A deep dive into your own truth.
🌔 Day 4 — Self-Worth and Voice Taking up space. Speaking your truth. Expressing what has been held back.
🌕 Day 5 — Pleasure and Aliveness Rediscovering joy as a compass. Feeling alive in your body — not as something to chase, but something already available to you.
🌖 Day 6 — Integration and New Direction Who am I becoming? What do I take forward? A closing circle to honour how far you've come.
Mornings begin with meditation, breathwork and gentle movement. After a slow breakfast, we’ll meet in circle. The afternoons are yours to spend time by the saltwater pool, take a walk in the surrounding fields, rest, journal, or use the sauna and jacuzzi.
On specific days, we meet again late afternoons or after dinner for a ritual around the pool, or in the retreat's beautiful stone chapel.
Evenings gather everyone around the table for shared, organic plant-based dinners, with one special dinner out at a local restaurant on Thursday evening.
The practices you'll explore include somatic movement, yin yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, breathwork, sound, touch, and body-led expression, all gently guided and adapted to your level and needs.
No prior experience is needed; just an openness to slow down, listen, and feel.
The week closes with a celebratory final dinner and a closing circle, and you’ll receive a follow-up online group session after the retreat to support integration back into daily life.

All meals are:
100% organic
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free
We serve three meals daily, with a gentle rhythm that supports the flow of the retreat:
Breakfast is served between 9:00–10:00, offering a slow and spacious start to the day.
Lunch is served as a lunchbox or light buffet, allowing you to eat at your own rhythm, whether you would like to take it into nature or enjoy it by the pool.
Dinner is shared together around 19:00, a grounding and connective moment at the end of the day.
On Thursday evening, we dine together at a cozy local restaurant—this is included in the retreat price.
The retreat is alcohol- and smoke-free, allowing you to get the most out of the week—physically, mentally, and energetically.
We are happy to accommodate allergies and food intolerances—please let us know your needs when you register.
Imagine waking slowly with the sun, your bare feet touching cool stone. You move through a gentle morning practice, not to fix or perform — but to feel. Your body unfolds like a breath. You follow sensation. No pressure. No perfection. Just presence.
You sip tea in the courtyard, the warmth of the cup in your palms, birdsong overhead, the scent of herbs on the breeze. You take your time.
Then the circle gathers.
A small circle of women. A sacred space. Honest sharing, embodied practice, ritual and ceremony — moving through a different theme each day. Something shifts when women sit together in this way. What you thought was your own private struggle turns out to be the struggle of most women. You are witnessed. You are held. You are not alone.
Later, the afternoon is completely yours. You walk barefoot in the grass. You notice texture, temperature, the way your breath moves in rhythm with your steps. You remember the world is alive — and so are you.
In the evening, we gather around the dinner table — sharing food, stories and the quiet warmth of women who have spent the day going inward together. Some evenings hold ritual and ceremony. Others simply hold stillness. And in that space — whatever form it takes — something inside you shifts. Not because you tried, but because you allowed.
You'll leave with a felt memory of what it's like to be truly at home in your body — and the knowledge that you can find your way back there, anytime.
Embodied movement practices that invite you to slow down, listen inward, and move from sensation
Somatic explorations that help you reconnect with your body as a source of wisdom, creativity, and truth
Gentle yoga like yin, restorative and yoga nidra to soothe the nervous system and restore your natural rhythm
Touch, sound, breath, and movement as portals into presence and pleasure
Optional journaling or reflection practices
Moments of stillness and silence, both in nature and within, where deep integration and clarity can arise
Supportive group energy that honours your individuality, boundaries, and need for solitude or connection
A spacious rhythm with plenty of time to rest, wander, reflect, and simply be.
During your stay at La Commanderie, you’ll have access to our pool and—depending on the weather and season—our small wellness area, created to help you unwind between sessions and enjoy quiet moments for yourself.
Our jacuzzi is heated and ready for you whenever you need a break. It’s ideal for relaxing tired muscles, warming up on cooler days, or simply taking a few minutes to pause and breathe.
You’re welcome to use our sauna throughout the retreat. It’s a wonderful way to release tension, support the body, and deepen relaxation.
Our saltwater pool is heated during the summer (May-September) for optimal comfort and is ready for you to enjoy throughout the day.
For the brave souls (and the Vikings among us), the outdoor pool remains open during the colder season for a refreshing cold dip—perfect for alternating between the warm jacuzzi, the sauna, and the crisp outdoor water.
Treat yourself to a restorative massage during your free time. We collaborate with experienced local massage therapists who can come to La Commanderie — simply let us know when booking and we'll arrange it for you. 1 hour · 80 €
I'm Catja—founder of Sal-Me.
My work weaves together soft yoga, meditation, somatic practices, women’s circles, and more as a path to transformation. At the heart of it all is a wish to create safe spaces where women can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and find their own rhythm again—away from constant demands and expectations.
Through my own life experience, I know how much energy it takes to keep everything going, and how important it is to have spaces where you don’t have to hold it all together. Where you can arrive as you are, move at your own pace, and simply be supported.
I look forward to welcoming you—to this land, this rhythm, and this gentle way of being together.
I speak Danish, French, and English, and am happy to adapt the language to the need of the group.

"The experience was magical. The place is perfect for getting some head space and healing. I would highly recommend to friends and colleagues. I leave the retreat feeling very privileged to have been able to share this amazing space with these lovely people. It has touched my heart. Thank you Catja (and Etienne)."

"I recently attended the yoga retreat at la Commanderie in the state of France and it was exactly what I needed. After finishing the Camino de Santiago, I was looking for a place to rest, reflect and ease into a life transition I’m moving through. This retreat provided the perfect sanctuary. The theme/focus on embodied movement and calming the nervous system was restorative. Catja, our host, is a loving and nurturing soul and she created a space that felt safe. I loved the balance between activities and free time and the food was nourishing and delicious. Everything was prepared with such care and love – making sure everyone’s dietary needs were taken care of. I’m grateful for the peace, reflections and connection I found here."
-Julie Owen
"La Commanderie is amazing! The physical grounds and buildings wrap all activities in a kind of peace and wonder. Catja (and Etienne) create such a lovely open space that every one of the members of our group when I was there found deep connection – both within ourselves and with each other… If you are looking to find a way (back) to your most authentic self, I highly recommend this retreat, especially for women!"

Can I Bring My Pet?
We love animals, but pets are not allowed at the retreat.
La Commanderie is a quiet space designed for rest, presence, and deep listening. To keep the environment calm and supportive for everyone, we’re not able to accommodate dogs or other pets.
In addition, we share the land with three resident cats, and bringing other animals would not be safe or harmonious for them—or for the group.

Who can participate in the retreat?
This retreat is for women who have been so busy holding everything together that they've forgotten what it feels like to just be themselves.
It's for you if you:
Have been pushing through for longer than you care to admit — and something in you is ready to stop
Long to feel truly alive in your body again — not just functional, but genuinely present
Are in a life transition and sense that something needs to shift — even if you can't name it yet
Crave real, honest connection with other women — beyond surface level
Want to be held in a safe, gentle space without pressure to perform or share more than feels right
You don't need any prior experience — just a willingness to show up and listen to your body.
This retreat is not about fixing yourself or becoming someone new. It's about coming home to yourself — with support, simplicity, and care.
This Retreat May Not Be for You If…
You are looking for a fast-paced programme or a retreat packed with constant activity
You prefer strong physical workouts or performance-based yoga
You are not ready to slow down, be still, or sit with what arises
You need a fully fixed and rigid programme with no room for the unexpected
You are looking for answers from the outside rather than listening inward
The Way Back to Yourself moves at the pace of the body — slow, honest and responsive. If you are open to a softer rhythm and curious about what happens when you stop pushing and start listening — you will feel at home here.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely — most participants come on their own.
The retreat is designed to create a warm sense of community and belonging, even for those arriving solo.
What if I have to cancel?
We recommend that you read our cancellation policy. If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible so we can find the best solution.
I'm still not sure... Can we talk first?
Absolutely. If you're unsure if this retreat is right for you, I’d love to connect.
